How do you become a school
board member?
Submit a petition
signed by 2% of the district’s eligible voters to the
district office by a predetermined and publicized date (contact district
clerk).
Campaign among
eligible voters before election day (3rd Tuesday
each May in suburban and small city districts; November election day
for Rochester City School District).
Prepare to serve for
a 5-year term in Brockport, a 4-year term in Rochester,
and a 3-year term in all other Monroe County districts.
